Welcome to the training page
As training officer for the MIGCFR I am responsible for over seeing all training activities within the department for
both career and volunteer staff. No Training Officer can do this alone and I am fortunate to have the support of the Officers
and Firefighters of this department. I started my career in the fire service in 1979 with the South Greenville Fire District
in the upstate of South Carolina. In January of 2000 I accepted a position with MIGCFR that lead to my current position. I
am also an adjunct instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy.
Our Mission Statement: We will train in a professional and safe manner to be prepared for any emergency to which
we may be called. We will carry this training with us into battle to face many dangers always remembering " Everyone Goes
Home". Your safety starts with you, be prepared, and be safe. Train like your life depends on it. BECAUSE IT DOES!
